Twins2023. Yes there is no deposit to SIR at SLO. The deposit comes in the housing application ($1500), which all freshmen are required to live on campus the first year (unless they get an exemption, which then they would be committing to go for sure because the process for the exemption isn’t easy). Housing application closed on June 1st.

Try planning out your courses at both Cal Poly and UCLA - since you are an incoming freshman it may require more work than it did for my three years. You will be surprised in the differences you find. For one, Cal Poly does not offer most major courses as often as UCLA will. This may be a problem if you miss a sequence, or do not pass a class.

School size is very different - SDSU has 33,000 faculty and staff and SLO has 19,000 so its a much bigger campus. SDSU has a very good public health program and the community colleges nearby have supporting health programs.SLO target projections shows 878 applicants for 53 spots but since not all admitted students enroll, SLO will accept more than the 53 students and they will invite more students to submit a portfolio than they will actually admit.
