Parts for pistons are much harder to find. I have a DI and 2 HK pistons. I keep a stash of spare parts for the pistons for the upper. Lower is just a lower like any DI. The DI stays in the safe because I like shooting and cleaning the pistons better. For most a DI is probably better and less expensive in the long run.

You're using speed motors with a 13:1 gearset. Your motor isn't strong enough to pull the spring. Swap your gearset back to 18:1 and see if it turns over. If it cycles properly, then you've solved your issue. Buy a torque motor (ZCI high torque comes to mind) and re-assemble using the 13:1 gearset.
