Guy pulled the codes and I think they still pulled the lean codes (unsure). He thought this was because we did a cold start.

Possible that over time--- porosity in the spark plug tubes-- caused slight pooling of oil or coolant. when you removed the plug- the oil/coolant went into the cylinder. the smoke you saw- was the liquid being burned off. Stabilitrak can be disabled if the system detects some kind of error, but that is the vehicle doing this not the owner.Yes that is a bit much for a New BCM even is GM charged $600 for one that is another $500 for an hour of labor to program and a half hour to replace it. Any shop with the proper diagnostic tool with programming capabilities could do it.
