I (somewhat) recently purchased and assembled a Langmuir MR1 CNC machine for my personal shop. I tried to condense my thoughts on my project websites. TLDR: It's a great machine for the price (for hobby projects). Overall happy with it, but it can use a couple of small design tweaks. Reach out with any questions. Mine has slightly more Z and is heavier with a fixed gantry of heavier steel, so more rigid, but with a higher RPM spindle for aluminum only. Natively running on 240v power is a huge plus for most small-time users. Depends on the parts you're making, but gantry formats are clear winners in the cost-rigidity-footprint-work area calculus.
