With the added size of the engine and the weight of your trike kit and passenger the bigger engine will run hotter. I use Amsoil 60wt synthetic in my engine to help keep the temps lower. But it smokes like a freight train on start up smells like a gas and oil mixture. Doesn't smoke as much after running a bit. Gonna change the oil again now that the shake down is over . If I was between a rock and a hard place, and had to do this swap, I would just swap the powertrain and then use the 05 induction module. Then aftermarket tune it for a 103. I assume that there is an issue with the green stuff, or you would just be rebuilding the 88 as a 98 or larger.I just really love my bike and think it would be great if I could just swap out the engine. thanks . ...
